Enteric-coated capsules, generally speaking, are capsules that can be dissolved and absorbed in the small intestine of the human body.
Enteric-coated capsules refer to hard capsules made by filling capsules with granules or pellets coated with enteric-coated materials, or hard capsules or soft capsules prepared with suitable enteric-coated materials. Enteric-coated capsules are insoluble in gastric juice but can disintegrate in intestinal juice to release the active ingredient. Unless otherwise specified, enteric-coated capsules should meet the relevant requirements of delayed-release preparations (Guideline 9013) and be checked for release (General rule 0931).
